Irene Morfini

Egyptologist

I was born in Lucca, Italy. Graduated in Egyptology at the University of Pisa (Italy) and at Leiden University (The Netherlands). I have a solid experience in operating at field level, including excavations and coordination of human resources, achieved in Egypt by working in different projects (Saqqara and Luxor). A number of experiences in Italy complete my professional background in the field. I currently cover the position of Deputy Head of the Min project, an archaeological mission in cooperation with the Minister of Antiquities of Egypt, based in Luxor at two tombs in the Nobles Valley. While pursuing my activities in Egypt, I am also committed in finalizing my research (PhD level) in Egyptology, at Leiden University, focused on the documents of the Deir el-Medina village, in Luxor.
